With Sony snapping Spider-Man out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU),  the next Iron Man’s departure could negatively impact the MCU.

Regardless,  Spider-Man: Far From Home is such a great and fun movie that ends the Infinity Saga on the perfect note. But the recent Sony/ Disney fallout has now ruined any stakes set up in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

The movie is a sequel to 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming directed by Jon Watts and starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jake Gyllenhal. Taking place after Avengers: Endgame, the film shows how the world has changed and how Tom Holland (Peter Parker) tries to deal with the pressure of being the world’s next Iron Man.

Holland and Zendaya’s acting chemistry shines throughout this movie, along with Gyllenhal’s amazing performance as Mysterio. Watts also provides some exceptional shots, and the VFX and CGI are a massive improvement from the last movie.

This movie also has possibly one of the best post-credits scenes in movie history. It is an amazing cliffhanger and overall sets up the stakes for whatever is in store for the inevitable Spider-Man 3.

Additionally, there was an astounding third and final act, which is something that some of the Marvel continuity of movies lack. The movie was entertaining throughout, and the runtime never overstays its welcome.

The twists are also solid, and Peter’s failure throughout the movie in his quest to date Michelle Jones (MJ) is also very realistic and well done. The choreography is sublime and the score composed by Michael Giacchino is very enthusiastic and engaging. Overall, Spider-Man: Far From Home is one of, if not the best, live action Spider-Man movie out there, and in general one of the better MCU movies to date, now damaged by the fallout between Disney and Sony

The MCU was set for phase four to feature Spider-Man as the main powerhouse character, until a disagreement between a new deal on Disney and Sony’s behalf saw Disney pull the plug and take the Spider out of the MCU for good(so far).

If a new deal isn’t made soon, it’s very likely that both Sony and Marvel will doom their own movie universes. In Sony’s case, it’s impossible to make Spider-Man 3 happen without straight up rebooting it. In Marvel’s case, they now have to act as if Spider-Man never existed and or come up with an explanation over Peter Parker’s disappearance from the MCU’s universe.

I hope a new deal gets made soon, as the backlash from fans is massive. It’s such a disservice to the fans that Disney, as some people assume, are trying to make more money, and yet somehow Sony gets blamed for it. And the worst part is, Disney was making more money than Sony was through this deal, yet still wanted more.

I give Spider-Man: Far From Home a 9.1 out of 10. It’s an excellent closing to the Infinity saga and just makes me excited for the future of the MCU, even if Tom Holland’s character is no longer with us.
