Holiday songs you should listen to

With Winter Break on its way and the same Christmas songs start playing in the stores, it might be annoying to hear the same songs over and over again. It’s nice to switch it up every once in a while and listen to something new and exciting. These are my top eight underrated Christmas and winter songs for every kind of person.

“Dream” by the Pied Pipers

  • This isn’t a Christmas song, but it does give off winter vibes. It has encouraging lyrics that are, of course, dreamy. It’s a good song to relax with a nice hot cup of cocoa by the fire.

“Skating” by Vince Guaraldi Trio

  • From A Charlie Brown Christmas, this song is a great background or study song. It’s a song that many people know, but it isn’t played to the point where it gets tiring to listen to each Christmas season.

“White Winter Hymnal” by Pentatonix

  • If you’re looking for a dark-themed winter song, “White Winter Hymnal” is the perfect song for you. It’s sung completely acapella and has dark harmony that really adds to the dark lyrics. However, it’s not something that I recommend if you are not into songs that are dark or about death.

“Happy New Year” by Kavv

  • If you’re into lo-fi music, this song is perfect for you. It implements a jazzy beat with a little bit of a grainy sounding aesthetic. This is also another great studying song that’s also short and sweet.

“Christmas in New Orleans” by Louis Armstrong and Benny Carter

  • This song is awesome if you love the sound of classical jazz. This song is also great if you’re looking to hear a little bit of the famous Louis Armstrong sing this Christmas.

“Still Still Still” by Michele McLaughlin

  • McLaughlin plays a lovely arrangement of a classical Christmas song on the piano. If you’re looking for something instrumental to play in the background while decorating your house, this song is perfect. It’s a great song to unwind to after a long winter’s day.

“Merry Christmas Everybody” by I DON’T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME

  • If you’re looking for a more upbeat song, this one is an awesome one to listen to. This is something I never hear in stores, and it has a really fun pop/rock sound to it.

“Deck the Halls – Piano Version” by Annie Leigh

  • This Christmas lullaby is great for falling asleep to if you like to fall asleep to music at night. It’s short and quiet, and will easily put you to sleep when necessary.
