Sammi France’s “Dangerous” album review
Country singer Morgan Wallen just released his new double album, “Dangerous”, on Jan. 8. People all across the country have been going crazy over this album, causing it to be the number one album on the iTunes charts, as of Jan. 14. I personally am in love with this album and am listening to it all day long. There are 30 songs on this album, which some people think is too long, but I love how there are so many songs.
- “Sand In My Boots”
This has got to be one of my favorite songs on this double album. I don’t know what Morgan Wallen was going through, but this song puts everyone in their feels. Between the lyrics and the soft piano playing, this song makes me want to cry. But, it is such a good song and very heartfelt.
- “Wasted On You”
This is another song that makes me angry yet thankful for the person who broke Morgan Wallen’s heart because he is giving us so many good songs. Even though I did not go through a heartbreak, I love shouting and singing this song because it is very catchy and his voice sounds amazing in it.
- “Somebody’s Problem”
I really enjoy this song! I first discovered it off of Tik Tok, but it is more of a softer, calmer song so I feel like I can listen to this song at any time. I feel like this song isn’t too much about heartbreak anymore, but getting the girl so it is more positive. My favorite part of this song has got to be the lyrics because they are so creative and detailed.
- “865”
This is another song that makes me want to cry, not in a bad way but a good way because I love this song. I don’t know whether it’s the way he describes the girl using what I assume is her phone number “865-409-1021” or the pain in the lyrics, but I just feel for him. This is one of the songs that are on repeat for me because it is so good.
- “Warning”
I was not expecting to love this song as much as I do. This has got to be one of my favorite songs right now. The chorus to this song makes you want to jump around and just belt out the lyrics. Even though this is more of a heartbreak and regret sort of song, which is clearly shown in the lyrics, the rhythm and beat in this song just put it on a whole other level. This song is on repeat all day for me.
- “Cover Me Up”
Speaking of another heartbreak and sad song, “Cover Me Up” is yet another song on this album that makes me want to cry for him. This song has been out for a while and I would always listen to it if I was doing homework or just in a gloomy mood. The strain and pain in his voice and the lyrics make this song so powerful and sad at the same time.
- “7 Summers”
I actually first discovered this song on Tik Tok where Morgan Wallen had released just a preview of it, so when he released the full song, I was so excited. This song shows a lot of good memories and good parts of a relationship, so this has a happier tone to it than some of the other songs on this album. This song really makes you think about good memories you have had with your friends or significant others, which is great during this time of COVID-19.
- “Dangerous”
Considering that the album is named after this song, it has to be good, right? Right. His fast-paced singing and the rhythm of this song make me want to sing it in the car or just dance around outside with my friends. I was actually very impressed by this song, so I will definitely be listening to it more often.
- “Me On Whisky”
I wasn’t really sure how I felt about this song at first. But after listening to it a couple of times, it really grew on me. I love the guitar that they use because it makes the song sound really unique to this album. I also really like the chorus because Morgan Wallen’s voice sounds so good. I haven’t listened to it too much, but the chorus is definitely my favorite part of the song but overall it’s a pretty good song where he talks about what types of drinks they are drinking together.
- “Country A$$ Sh*t”
I absolutely love this song. It has such a different vibe and tone than the other songs. This is a fun song where I just want to dance around and blast it. I think he really did a great job with this song because it adds more happiness to the album. I highly recommend listening to this song because it puts me in a better mood every time I listen to it. It also gives me summer vibes, so I will definitely be listening to it in the summer a lot with my friends.
- “Only Thing That’s Gone (Featuring Chris Stapleton)”
I actually haven’t listened to this song very much but I really like it. I am a big fan of Chris Stapleton, so I was very excited to hear them sing a song together. I love how their voices sound together, which is probably why the chorus is my favorite part of the song. This is a classic country song though, it talks about alcohol and a breakup. If you’re a big country fan, I highly recommend this song.
- “Livin’ The Dream”
I really like how this song sounds and how his voice sounds, which is why I feel like this song is actually really unique. On top of that, Morgan Wallen gets real about the hardships of his fame and living in the spotlight. I love how honest he is in the song, which is why the lyrics are probably one of my favorites of this album. He isn’t really glorifying the spotlight, which is why I really like this song.
