The Marvel Cinematic Universe “MCU”  has now turned to the streaming world with the shows “Wandavision” and their latest release, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. As a big Captain America fan, I was very excited to see the journey of Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, or “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”. 

In this mini-series, there will be six episodes, five episodes have been released so far. Each episode will be about 40 minutes long, so Marvel fans get to see plenty of action and see how Bucky and Sam are handling life after Steve Rodgers, Captain America, left them.

In the first episode, Sam Wilson, to whom Captain America gave his shield, is feeling the pressure of the shield. He then decides to give up the shield and have it displayed in Washington D.C. at the Captain America Memorial. Throughout the episode, fans got to see a different side to Sam, which I thought was very interesting. I  enjoyed seeing Sam spending time with his family and dealing with his own family problems, instead of dealing with the world’s problems. 

After the insight into Sam’s life after “Avengers: Endgame”, fans got to see a flashback to when Bucky Barners was the Winter Soldier, under Hydra’s control. I was amused by this scene because Bucky is one of my favorite characters from the MCU. Bucky was then seen going to a  therapist and fans got to see how he is trying to make amends with the people or families he has hurt from his past. It looks like he is struggling with his new life as he is still having nightmares and doesn’t really have any friends. This made me kind of mad at Rogers for leaving his lifelong friend behind for a woman he has kissed once. 

At the end of the episode, the government introduces a new Captain America. I was very shocked by this. It felt like a complete slap in the face to everything the original Captain America did for the world. 

In the second episode, fans finally get to see Sam and Bucky together. I loved seeing their back-and-forth arguments on the littlest things. They come together to fight the Flag Smashers, which is nostalgic to see and brings me back to “Captain America: Civil War” days. However, the new so-called Captain America, John Walker, comes in to help them fight the super soldiers. I love how Sam and Bucky are passive-aggressive towards him because I don’t like that guy. This episode was a lot of back-and-forth banter between Sam and Bucky, which was the highlight of the episode for me. 

At the end of the episode, Sam and Bucky come together to figure out how they can fight the Flag Smashers by themselves, which leads them to Zemo, the villain from “Captain America: Civil War”. I was very excited to see him because he wasn’t just an ordinary villain, he was different from the rest of the villains the Avengers have fought in the past.  

In the third episode, Zemo broke out of jail and I’m not gonna lie, that was a very funny scene because of all the whole scheme Zemo went through to break out of jail. He made it seem very easy. Zemo, Sam, and Bucky all argue back and forth throughout the whole episode, which was great to see. Zemo then takes them to Madripoor, where they come into a situation where Sam has to go undercover and Bucky has to turn into Winter Soldier again. I honestly felt bad for him because he went through a lot in order to not be under Hydra’s rule. I loved how Sam ruined the whole undercover act because he left his phone on. Typical Sam. 

While in Madripoor, they find someone from their past. Sharon Carter. I honestly didn’t know how I should feel about that. I did not like her in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” or “Captain America: Civil War”. I also really did not like how she was playing the victim on how she has to be in a hideout because she helped out Cap’s team in their civil war. I think a lot of other things have been going on in Sam and Bucky’s life so they do not have to feel sorry for Sharon. It was her own fault. 

In episode 4, fans get to see a flashback to Bucky’s days in Wakanda when Ayo finally frees Bucky of Hydra’s rule over him. It was such an emotional and happy moment to see Bucky finally free. When Bucky, Sam, and Zemo are on their way to find Karli, the leader of the Flag Smashers, they, unfortunately, come into contact with John Walker, who immediately wants to take control. He needs to learn his place. Since Sam wants to use his skills to go simply talk to Karli, John is of course, against it. He also has to go ruin everything, when he interrupts Sam and Karli and uses force against her. Then they lose her and are back at phase 1. 

Towards the end of the episode, there is a fight scene between the Flag Smashers and Karli, once they find them again, but this time it ends up a little different. As Karli is about to attack John, his sidekick, Lemar Hoskins, tries to push her out of the way. Well, that didn’t exactly go in his favor as she is a super soldier and throws him into a wall, which kills him. John then goes full-on rage and wants to kill any flag Smasher insight. He catches up to one of them, who didn’t kill Lemar, and stabs him to death with the shield. The final scene of the episode shows the shield covered in blood, which fans have never seen before. This really surprised me because I honestly think John would do that sort of thing to someone. So, I really hope that they take away his title as the new Captain America because I don’t think he is deserving of that title anymore. 

After episode 4, there are only two episodes left. I am not ready to say goodbye to Bucky and Sam. As it comes to an end, I can only just hope that nothing bad happens to them because I don’t think I could take another Marvel Heartbreak. I still haven’t recovered from Tony Stark’s death and Steve Rogers’ disappearance.
