Splitgate

A new video game has blown up on all platforms and might revolutionize gaming. The game is called Splitgate, a battle royale game with a twist. It’s not like every other battle royale game (BR), where most BR’s are a 100 player lobby. Splitgate has portals, where you can immediately transfer yourself from one side of the map to another to get strategic eliminations. Splitgate has found a way to set themselves apart from other battle royale games, with a new way of thinking and strategy to get eliminations and a victory.

Splitgate isn’t just a unique game because of its concept, but also because of its many different game modes. If you don’t enjoy the one you’re playing, you can always try one of the 10 gamemodes. One of the modes, Team DeathMatch, is a unique gamemode because of its objective of having to reach a certain objective rather than being the last one alive. You have to reach a certain amount of eliminations before the other team, while trying to limit your own casualties. Splitgate also stands out with its sports aspect. This aspect combines sports into the game, such as a soccer game mode and basketball cosmetics. Because of these eccentric features its popularity is steadily increasing.

Splitgate clearly has a company that cares about the game. Epic Games, the owner of Fortnite, Rocket League, and other games, had shown interest in buying the game. They were unsuccessful because of how much the developers care about the game, and feel it’s best when it’s in their hands. The reason Splitgate is so successful is because of its distinctive features, gameplay, game modes and a company that cares about the progression of the game. I believe Splitgate will continue to grow steadily and maybe even become the next Fortnite. By next year it may just be the #1 video game in the world.
