In the film, after  facing the pressure of millions of worlds, a daughter hunts for a version of her mom that finally understands her through the chaos of everything going on. Jumping through the multiverse, the watcher sees the infinite what-could-have-beens lying in each dimension.

“Even the smallest decisions can compound into significant decisions over a lifetime.” (—Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, 2022)

Even. The. Smallest. Decisions. Lives were changed when this movie was produced. Everything, Everywhere, All at Once has been awarded various accolades since its release. Title after title, award after award- from Best Picture to Best Original Screenplay, the Golden Globe to the Oscars, this film made great feats. Michelle Yeoh, Malaysian actress starring as Evelyn Wang in the film at 60 years old, was announced to be the first Asian best actress winner in the 95 year history of the Oscar awards. Inspiring the world with her heartfelt speech on achieving one’s dreams, she stated,

“For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities. This is proof — dream big and dreams do come true, and ladies, don’t let anybody tell you you’re ever past your prime.” (— Yeoh, 2023)

In this universe, Yeoh has gone on to make changes in the world- this movie has gone to change the world.

Taking a small step forward- doing something as small as biting lip balm like Waymong in the film- could change the world. It’s the small things that lead up to the bigger changes. Make that small change.
