The d214 Art Expo exhibits two and three-dimensional works of outstanding local student artists. All six District 214 high schools participate; eight middle schools/junior highs exhibit their pieces as well. This year, Elk Grove was awarded as the most voted for high school in the district, as well as Lincoln Middle school being the most awarded junior high! Zlata Kvartsyana from South Middle School won the most voted for artwork with 399 votes!
As an AP Art student, although I chose not to submit my personal work, I can admire the wonderful pieces that so many talented young artists have put together for this event. I love seeing all of the different art styles and differing stories that people wish to tell with their works, and I implore others to take a look and do the same. It’s so important to express creativity with handmade work to represent the necessity of hearing young artists and not only embracing their individuality but encouraging it. If you want to be featured in the Art Expo, I would suggest you join the RMHS Art club or sign up for an art class next year! This yearly event is a great opportunity to get your work out there as well as celebrate others!
