Sadly, there is a great lack of bilingual books offered at public school, even though they can be very educational and help anyone practice a second language. Students Madeline Painter and Rupsa Mitra noticed this lack and decided to start bookbinders.

Bookbinders is a Rolling Meadows alumni funded club which creates bilingual books to deliver to schools, including John Jay Elementary school. Painter states, “Our club’s goal is to create children’s books with both English and Spanish text in them.” 

They plan to expand their club by reaching out to Chicago schools in the future. Rolling Meadows is so excited to see what Bookbinders does in the future!
