RMHS DECA Dominates at State
From Thursday, March 3 to Saturday, March 5, some of our very own RMHS DECA members competed in the DECA state competition. For those that don’t know what DECA is, it is a business club for students in which they take a business related test and also participate in a set of role plays. The club itself sets up students to practice marketing, finance, hospitality, and management, by demonstrating leadership and entrepreneurship skills. The DECA members that participated in state have left a huge mark on the program as this was a very successful year for many of the students.
Here is a list of students that placed highly at the state competition:
STATE CHAMPIONS!
Gage Lockley and Oliver Basza – Team Entrepreneurship
2nd PLACE FINISH
Kaitlyn Hannon and Marisa Pacocha – Team Travel and Tourism
3rd PLACE FINISH
Dominic Maloberti and Cole Martin – Team Travel and Tourism
These 6 students also qualified for the National Competition!
Additionally the following students placed in the top 10 of their competitions. Most competitions had between 30-50 individuals/teams competing.
Reagan Cherwin and Julia Ingolia – Team Hospitality Services
Evan Eizenga – Entrepreneurship
Nathaniel Georg – Business Finance
Ryan Schoessling – Restaurant and Food Service Management
Huge congratulations to these students!
