Arab American Heritage Month

April marks National Arab American Heritage Month, recognizing the unique experiences and contributions of the almost 3.5 million Arab Americans in the US. Arab and non-Arab Americans pass the month learning more about and celebrating Arab art, culture, and history.

National Arab American Heritage Month was first celebrated in 2017 by just a few states, but has grown since then to get federal recognition from Congress and President Biden. In a proclamation from President Biden, he said that “The Arab American story is the American story — one of diverse backgrounds and faiths, vibrant tradition, bold innovation, hard work, commitment to community, and stalwart patriotism.”

The Arab America Foundation promotes awareness of the month and hosts events and provides materials to learn more about Arab American culture for both Arab and non-Arab Americans. If you want to learn more, visit https://arabamericafoundation.org.
