Interesting Ways To Cure Boredom While In Quarantine

I have made an attempt at trying almost everything I could think of doing off the top of my head while in quarantine. Some efforts were definitely more successful than others such as reading all of the books I checked out from the library compared to burning a banana bread loaf in the oven (sad times). In light of having nothing to do, I present you with a list of unique ideas you should try while at home. I guess making this list is a task keeping me occupied, so that is a silver lining.
- Leave Online Reviews
I can matter of factly say that I have never written reviews on any product I have purchased. This may be because I am very cheap so I don’t purchase many frivolous items, or that I rely on other people to leave reviews and make a decision from there. But now we have the time to write reviews and this can be very fun. Now please don’t go the Karen route and merely bash the product/service and its seller. Keep it positive, funny or if you were dissatisfied with whatever product or service you paid for, then do be sure to leave constructive feedback.
- Make A Family Pyramid Ranking And Present It To Your Family Members
This is a TikTok trend so forgive me for that, or don’t because there might be more ideas in line with trends on the app, but this one specifically can stir up some heat in the household. Rank your family by how productive, helpful or nice they have been while in quarantine and then present the rankings. No matter what, I’m going to end up having to place my mom at the top of the pyramid because she makes me dinner and I don’t want that to stop.
- Cut Up Magazines And Make A Collage
Let’s bring back third-grade arts and crafts! Find old magazines in your house and cut out pictures and or words that are visually aesthetic or represent you in some way. You can then paste these cutouts all on backing material such as cardboard, wood, canvas or even a notebook.
- Reactivate Your Old Gaming Accounts
Names like Club Penguin or Poptropica should provoke some nostalgia. If you used to have an account on any of these or other sorts of online interactive gaming sites, then click the “forgot password” button and revisit your account. If you were a sheltered child or really cannot get past that “forgot password” setting, make a brand new account and observe how the site has changed or stayed the same. Also, if you can make it past the Mystery Train island on Poptropica, you are instantly a hero in my eyes.
- Put On A Trench Coat And Your Detective Hat
Channel your inner Sherlock Holmes and research crime that has occurred in your surrounding location. If you’re really invested in this activity, there are crime scene databases available to the public online. Who knows, maybe there’s an opening at the FBI calling your name.
More ideas will be added throughout coming weeks. If you end up doing any of these activities, post a picture on Twitter and use the hashtag #pacerquarantivities
