After last week’s statement win, the RMHS Mustangs are feeling confident as they head into tonight’s (9/27/24) matchup. The team is fresh off a victory that broke their opponent’s winning streak, and they’re determined to carry that energy forward.
“Last week’s win was a statement win,” said junior wide receiver and corner Arman Lepuzanovic. “We broke Maine West game streak, and that’s always nice.” Looking ahead to tonight’s game, Lepuzanovic added, “We set the time all week, watched films, did a game plan, so it should come down to the win tonight.” The Mustangs are sticking to what works, with the team’s strategy focused on running the ball and executing their plays.
Jake Harvey, a junior wide receiver, echoed the team’s readiness. “We’re feeling good. Rivals, nothing to worry about,” he said. The team will rely on special teams to make some big plays and stick to their usual game plan.
Freshman Shea Wells, a receiver, also feels confident in the Mustangs’ ability to secure another win. “I feel pretty good for the team—I have a feeling we’ll come out with a win,” said Wells. “We just gotta show out, not have too many flags, and we’ll be okay.”
Kickoff is tonight at 7:30 PM as the Mustangs look to extend their winning streak against Buffalo Grove
