The Philadelphia Eagles walloped the Chiefs and won the 59th Annual Super Bowl by a shocking score of 40-22. This came as a surprise to many fans who thought the game was going to be close and competitive. It was clear from the start that it was not.
The Eagles defense, led by coordinator Vic Fangio, contained Patrick Mahomes very well. The Eagles forced two fumbles, recovering one of them, and picked off Patrick Mahomes twice. They also recorded six team sacks of Mahomes, one short of tying the Super Bowl record. The defensive effort was sparked by a 38-yard pick-six by Cooper DeJean on his birthday. The most impressive part was that a blitz was never called by the Eagles called all game.

The main highlight outside of the game was Kendrick Lamar’s Apple Music Halftime performance. He performed multiple hits, including “HUMBLE” and “Not Like Us”. He also performed two records with R&B artist SZA. He had multiple guest appearances in the show, with Samuel L. Jackson and Serena Williams as guest performers.
Jalen Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP after leading his team with a standout performance at quarterback. He thew for 221 yards while adding 72 rushing yards and a score on the team’s signature “Tush Push” play. His highlight of the night was a 46-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver DeVonta Smith.
Coach Nick Sirianni had a great response to winning the Super Bowl after his yellow Gatorade Shower by Devonta Smith and Darius Slay. He said, “You can’t be great without the greatness of others. Great performance by everybody- offense, defense, special teams.” MVP Jalen Hurts also had words to say on the win. “They gave us opportunities, gave us short fields. And we’re able to do what we do.”
It was an impressive performance by the Eagles to cap off the 2024-2025 NFL Season. It was a reminder that anything can happen in the world of sports. But most of all, it was a reminder that even though people all over the world have their differences, they can still come together to celebrate something truly special.
