The Leading Ladies show choir gained valuable experience during their performance with Glee star Jane Lynch at the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards last Saturday. The veteran actor and comedian offered the girls insight into the world of entertainment and performing.
“She told us to always have fun with what you’re doing and continue to do what we love; which is to sing and perform,” show choir member senior Amanda Torres said.
Saturday Night Live performer Joe Piscopo and Flight actress Nadine Velazquez were among the other celebrities in attendance.
“My personal favorite part was greeting the guests at the door on the red carpet because it was amazing to meet all these famous people,” Torres said.
Lynch, who was presented with the “Comedia Extraordinaire” award, taught the girls how to stay humble even in the spotlight.
“Jane was really sweet and incredibly down to earth,” Torres said.
The Leading Ladies performed a parody of Beyonce’s “The End of Time” as a tribute to Lynch. The girls hope that this experience performing in front of a large audience will help them prepare for the rest of the season.
“ I think this will help us improve our facials and overall performance we give at all of our shows,” Torres said.
